Soliman Auricular Allergy Treatment (SAAT)
Helping Support Patients with Alpha-Gal Syndrome & Other Allergies
Alpha-Gal Syndrome has gained increased attention in recent years due to its connection with tick bites, particularly from the Lone Star tick. Individuals with Alpha-Gal Syndrome develop an immune response to a carbohydrate molecule called Alpha-Gal, which is found in mammalian meats and certain animal-derived products.
Unlike many traditional food allergies, reactions associated with Alpha-Gal Syndrome are often delayed for several hours after exposure. Symptoms can vary from person to person and may include:
- Hives or itching
- Digestive discomfort
- Fatigue
- Headaches
- Joint pain
- Swelling
- Difficulty breathing
- Severe allergic reactions in some cases
Because symptoms can appear hours later and may affect multiple body systems, Alpha-Gal Syndrome can sometimes be difficult to recognize and manage.
What is SAAT?
SAAT (Soliman Auricular Allergy Treatment) is a specialized auricular acupuncture technique developed by Dr. Nader Soliman. This unique approach utilizes specific acupuncture points in the ear to help support the body’s response to allergens.
For each allergen being addressed, a tiny auricular needle is placed in a precise point of the ear and remains in place for a period of time as directed by the practitioner. Many patients seek SAAT as a complementary approach to help reduce sensitivity and improve quality of life related to allergy symptoms.
SAAT has been used for:
- Alpha-Gal Syndrome
- Environmental allergies
- Food sensitivities
- Medication sensitivities
- Chemical sensitivities
- Other chronic allergy-related concerns
